Marian Jones

About Marian

I was born in a small village in the North West of England

and have lived here most of my life. When my husband, Noel,

retired in 1984 we spent a lot of time in our holiday home in

Wales  where I wrote stories for local radio.

 

In 2000 Noel (who had been a paraplegic from the age of 22)

began to suffer severe health problems and became partially

 housebound, so our social activities had to be curtailed.

I started to write again and this time an idea for a poem

came to me followed by others. My favourite poems are about the

 wonder of God's creation. I spend a great deal of time in my

garden and never cease to marvel at the beauty all around us.

I also love to walk in the mountains where I seem to get

inspiration to write a lot of my poems.

Sadly, I lost my husband last year and though I continue to write,

I miss sharing my work with him. He was always my inspiration as,

in spite of his disability, he had a philosophical attitude to what

 happened to him and had great inner strength.

I feel so honoured to be a part of this beautiful website and if
